If you instrument your applications with OpenTelemetry, you can now send that data to Atatus and analyze it there, without switching to a vendor agent. Atatus OpenTelemetry support accepts traces, metrics and logs from OpenTelemetry SDKs or the OpenTelemetry Collector.
OpenTelemetry is an open-source project that provides one set of APIs, libraries, agents and instrumentation for collecting telemetry. Because it is vendor-neutral, you can change your observability backend without re-instrumenting your code.

Why it helps
- Standard instrumentation: Instrument once with OpenTelemetry and collect metrics, traces and logs the same way across your services.
- Vendor-neutral: OpenTelemetry is backed by a broad community of contributors and vendors, so your instrumentation isn't tied to one tool.
- Multi-language support: OpenTelemetry has SDKs for many languages, including Java, Python, Go, Node.js, PHP, Ruby and .NET.
- End-to-end observability: Capture telemetry from microservices, cloud-native applications and infrastructure, and follow a request across services.
- Analysis in Atatus: Visualize and analyze the data you collect with OpenTelemetry in Atatus, alongside the rest of your monitoring data.
